Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar divided
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the chopped cherries with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar; set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, oats, the remaining sugar, and cinnamon. Add the melted butter and stir until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the crumble mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish. Layer with the cherry filling and top with the remaining crumble mixture.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
