Ingredients

Steak Ingredients
  • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for cooking
  • 2 green onions, chopped optional for garnish

Equipment

  • Grill or Skillet

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with black pepper.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Marinate the steak in this mixture for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Sear the marinated steak for about 4-6 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness. Flip only once to achieve nice grill marks.
  5. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain into thin strips.
  6. Serve alongside sautéed vegetables or rice, drizzling any remaining marinade on top.
