  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese grated
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese grated

  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  3. In a bowl, mix heavy cream with minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the caramelized onions and a third of the cream mixture. Repeat layers, finishing with the remaining cream mixture.
  5. Top with Gruyère and cheddar cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
