Ingredients
  

Pastry and Filling
  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 2 cups fresh mushrooms sliced, cremini or button
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage chopped
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg for egg wash optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms; cook until mushrooms are browned.
  3. Stir in chopped sage, salt, and pepper until fragrant.
  4. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface; cut into four-inch squares.
  5. Place a spoonful of the mushroom filling in the center of each square. Fold diagonally to form triangles and seal edges with a fork.
  6. Arrange turnovers on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush tops with egg wash if desired.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
