Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 2 cups heavy cream Chilled
  • 1 cup whole milk Chilled
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Strawberry Mixture
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries Hulled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Freshly squeezed

Method
 

Prepare Strawberry Mixture
  1. In a blender, combine the fresh strawberries and lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds, if desired.
Mix Base Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Fold in the strawberry puree until well combined.
Chill and Churn
  1. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until thoroughly chilled.
  2. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Freeze
  1. Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use ripe strawberries. You can also add chunks of strawberries during the churning process for added texture.
