Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

Method
 

Making the Syrup
  1. In a saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and water.
  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a simmer.
  3. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the strawberries to break down and release their juices.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a clean bottle or jar, discarding the solids.
  6. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
