Ingredients
  

Turkey Burger Patties
  • 1 pound ground turkey preferably lean
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs optional for binding
Toppings
  • 4 slices cheese optional, such as cheddar or Swiss
  • 4 buns burger buns whole wheat or regular
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles sliced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup optional
  • 1/4 cup mustard optional

Method
 

Prepare the Patties
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, beaten egg, and bread crumbs. Mix until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
Cook the Burgers
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  3. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Assemble the Burgers
  1. Toast the burger buns on the grill if desired.
  2. Place each patty on a bun and top with lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard as desired.
