Method
 

Prepare the Mixture
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.
Chill the Mixture
  1. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until thoroughly chilled.
Churn the Ice Cream
  1. Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freeze the Ice Cream
  1. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up before serving.
